Have you been falling behind on your daily journaling lately? Is your personal journal gathering dust and feeling neglected? Don’t worry - this happens to the best of us. Once you get out of the habit of journaling, you can forget how beneficial it is and how good it feels. Create Write Now is here to help you out of your journal writing funk. Here are seven different journaling prompts to get you back on track - one for each day of the week. After a week of journaling, you’ll be on a roll!

A Week of  Personal Journaling Prompts

Day 1

Consider your perspective on romantic relationships. Do you believe in soulmates? If so, why? Do you think you’re with your soulmate now? Or do you have friends that you think have found their soulmates? If you’re not a believer, what is your philosophy on finding love?

Day 2

Time to confess: what is the worst thing you feel you’ve ever done? This may be painful to recount at first, but you will probably feel a sense of relief getting it off your chest. What happened? Who was involved? How do you feel about it now? Tell your personal journal the story honestly. It won’t judge you, and maybe you can finally let go of something that’s been haunting you.

Day 3

Play make-believe in your journal, and indulge in your love of fiction. If you could meet any fictional character – from a book, a television show, a movie, a play – who would it be? Why do you feel a connection with this particular character? What would you do? Where would you go? What would you talk about?

Day 4

When was the last time you took a stand for something you believe in? Was it hard for you? Why or why not? Describe the issue and the events surrounding it. How did you feel afterward? How do you feel now, looking back on it?

Day 5

If you could go back and change something from your past, what would it be? What pivotal moment would you alter, and why? What do you imagine the butterfly effect would be if you changed this one piece of your life? How would it affect where you are today?

Day 6

What was your favorite pastime as a child? As a teen? As an adult? What about your favorite daydreams as a child? As a teen? As an adult? How have your tastes and habits changed throughout the years?

Day 7

Write about purpose. Think about the concept itself and then start applying it to your life. Do you think your life has a specific purpose? Or is it relative? What purpose have the people around you served? What events have happened that have served a specific purpose in your life?

What did you write about? Share your discoveries in the comments!
