Journaling and Jogging: 5 Reasons Why Running and Writing Are a Match Made in Heaven.

There are a number of passions and pursuits that are available in life. Two popular passions are journaling and jogging. Although some may be surprised, the fact of the matter is that both are a match made in heaven. There are five remarkable similarities that both share that are available for people to do. 

One of the best reasons why journaling and jogging compliment each other is because each one can be started in a similar fashion. Some like to put rules and restrictions about the right time and feeling as when to start to journal or jog, but the fact of the matter is that both are accomplished by just simply doing it. Numerous people have talked about doing numerous things in life, such as going to a certain city, gathering courage to ask someone out, quitting a job and so forth. Talk indeed is cheap, but each activity is not difficult to begin. A journal entry can simply be a word or two on a piece of paper. A jog is at least a few steps. Not much is required to begin either activity, but as people become more involved, they can begin writing in full paragraphs and can start jogging around a block.

Although not much is required to start each activity, people have the ability to improve as time goes along. However, it can be a mistake to think that after a week of practice is all that is needed in order for an activity to become a talent. It takes work for people to develop a skill as well as time. Reading books and articles may help an individual change how he or she does punctuation in a journal. A jogger may discover that he or she needs to change posture while jogging to avoid soreness. There are changes that do take place, but the changes made are often the result of an individual becoming better at an activity. Most often, individuals do not notice themselves improve on an activity until someone alerts him or her to it. 

Journaling and jogging are not limited to a certain amount of education or to those who are experienced athletes and writers. Both activities are available for people of many different ages to pursue. Although there can be limitations as to ability, it does not mean that people can still not enjoy something that provides them an outlet or makes them happy. A senior citizen may not be able to jog as he used to, but he can still enjoy a brisk walk on occasion. A young girl may not have the vocabulary of a senior in college, but she can write in her journal various personal thoughts in her own beautiful way. 

Another remarkable similarity that brings both activities together is that each one can become habitual. Through daily discipline and effort, people can get create new habits. Journaling may be a wonderful way of helping an individual through drug rehab, and it can become easier to do as an individual commits to it on a daily basis. Jogging can be difficult when the weather is unpleasant, but persistence to create habit can result in feelings of fulfillment that outweigh a little rain. The more people do an activity, the more likely it will become a habit and an enjoyable one at that.

A final thought on why journaling and jogging is a match made in heaven is that both activities give people pleasure. For some, enjoyment can be limited to only a couple of activities. Each of these passions are fun activities that can be excellent sources of pleasure. A journal is a fine way for an individual to have the freedom to express thoughts, fears, joy and other emotions without feeling condemned or confined. Jogging is a great way that people can receive needed exercise and extra endorphins while getting outside. 

Whether an individual prefers one activity to the other, both have provided numerous people a source of pleasure and enjoyment in life. These activities can be done alone or can be done with others each day. So whether you pick journaling or whether you pick jogging, know that both are great sources of enjoyment and fulfillment in what could be otherwise mundane daily habits.
