When we write we can write from many levels of our awareness.

In order to really tap into our most powerful, truthful, helpful and healing insights it’s important to shift our awareness into a state of centred, relaxed connection with the area of our heart.

This is easily done by breathing deeply and allowing yourself to settle into your body. Becoming aware of the way your body feels from the inside out and allowing yourself to let go of tension with each out breath. Just calling your awareness present and allowing your attention to rest in the area of your heart. It’s from this feeling place of connection with your tender, truthful essence that the answers to your most deeply held questions will start to flow. This is the place from which you can find out how you really feel and what you truly know on any subject.

To begin with it can be really helpful to set the stage for heart centred journaling by making sure you give yourself quiet time alone to deeply relax and centre. You may like to light yourself a candle or even put on an oil burner with a special blend of nurturing essential oils.

Have your journal and pen handy, get yourself comfy. Then just take those few minutes to simply let the bustle of a busy day and the hustle of a full life fall away. Feel life slow down as you consciously receive a few deeply relaxing breaths and let yourself arrive present here in this moment.

From this place of relaxed, settled, calm presence with your awareness resting in your heart, you’re now ready to check in with yourself at the deepest level. From this place you can ask yourself how you really feel on any subject. You can connect to what areas of your life you’re most deeply grateful for. You can also check in to see what areas are causing you the greatest distress and from your heart discover if there are any inspired action steps you can take to heal the life areas that aren’t flowing as well as you’d like.

From your heart you can explore your deepest fears, bringing them into the light of your awareness so you can see through them and move past them. From your heart you can explore the truth of any relationship and discover who are the people who truly support and nourish you in your life. You can discover what your heart feels as opportunity to expand, strengthen, deepen and heal the relationships you hold most dear.

From your heart you can essentially ask yourself any question and by feeling deeply into your heart as you write you’ll access a response that maybe kinder, wiser and more lovingly helpful than you could have imagined. From your heart you can get to the truth of your life and discover the inspirations to have your life unfold in ever more beautiful ways.
