"If someone in your life talked to you the way you talk to yourself, you would have left them long ago."
- Carla Gordon

Write about a time when you recently got upset. Then write down what you thought or said to yourself.

On a new sheet of paper, write what a friend said to you at a time when you were upset, or what your best friend would say. Read it again and again. Internalize the tone of kindness and compassion, so you can say those kinds of things to yourself automatically next time and forever.
