Journaling Ideas to Commemorate National Anti-Boredom Week

Anti-Boredom WeekAdmit it: you find yourself saying that you’re bored at least a couple times a week. We all do, and we all aren’t as productive as we want to be sometimes. That’s fine every once in awhile, but just remember: you’ll never get this moment back, so make the most of it!

This week is National Anti-Boredom Week, and to celebrate, we hope these journaling ideas will get your pen moving and help you become more creative and productive.

3 Creative Journaling Ideas 

1. Make a TO DO List                                                    

    This sounds simple enough, right? What activities do you need and want to get done today? This week? This month? This year? Take some time to journal about this, and start making a list. Every time you remember something that needs to be done, write it down. Make a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly list (leaving plenty of room to write). This will help you keep an account of everything you need and want to get done. When you find yourself saying that you’re bored, check your list and start on one of your listed activities. Think about how good it will feel to check something off! 

    2. Make a Life Plan

    This is another list-based journaling idea (because who doesn’t love a good list?). This time when you journal, make a list with long-term goals in mind. Where do you want to be in five, 10, 20 years? What steps do you need to take to get there? Make this a creativity exercise, and imagine your ideal career, partner, home or community in the future. Start journaling about where you want your life to go and how you plan to get there. If you find yourself feeling bored, look at your life plan and see if there are any small steps you can take right away to get on the right track.

    3. Imagine A World Where Boredom Doesn't Exist

    This is definitely a creativity exercise. Take some time to think and write about this. Imagine that you’ve never felt boredom. It doesn’t exist. What does that feel like? What do you do with your time to stay active and productive? If you can’t feel boredom, this means that you have to constantly be active or that you can find peace in the times that you are relaxing. How does that feel? Do you think it’s possible for you to eliminate boredom from your life?

    Let’s make a pledge to be productive this week but also to be content when we’re taking a break. Anti-Boredom Week isn’t just about productivity; it’s also about enjoying the moments when you can relax.
