Journal Writing Works Wonders in Curing Disease

Some additional information in one line

When you don't know what to write about in your journal, look to your body for some ideas.  Physical disease, our body’s way of getting our attention, is a great journaling prompter. This Journal Writing Therapy experience helps us understand what’s really happening mentally, emotionally, spiritually as well as physically inside us, and discover and apply a remedy for those unhealthy situations.

Disease gets us to start journaling. Works for me. When a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) exacerbation stole my right-hand, I needed a way to teach myself how to write left-handed. Using my left hand awakened the right side of my brain--creativity (!) and feelings (!) and a singing (!) career.

Therapeutic Journaling helps us move out of our head with its highly critical overthinking anxious worrying  and return to living in, communicating continuously with (on a first name basis) with our body.  The more we journal, the more pointers we pick up on how we participate in the creation of our diseases. No, disease doesn’t just drop down from the sky arbitrarily. Take my Multiple Sclerosis. It’s my immune system attacking itself. Well, through my Sage Pages I admitted that that WAS me— surviving on a diet of mental and emotional self-abuse. My journal is my number one health resources, my primary care provider, working hand-in-hand with me to achieve my goal of Perfect Health.

Journaling problem solves any disease. I recently had my first-ever experience with pneumonia.  Once I was able to sit up and take nourishment, I restarted my journaling routine. I’ve discovered that this disease was about reconnecting with my lungs and all the breath I never knew was there. Those notes below middle C resonate quite naturally now.

How’s your body behaving these days?

"My Body"

My body lies over the ocean

My body dives under the sea

My body deserves my devotion

My Journal brings back my body to me!
