"Mari talked me through the baby steps to therapeutic journaling, so many of us are uncomfortable putting what's in our head onto paper. Getting past your fear is the first crucial step, Mari is so very helpful in this area. Morning minutes is like washing out my brain before I start the day."

"When I was diagnosed with Chronic Epstein-Barr my whole life changed. I was no longer able to work full-time and couldn't manage even the simplest household chores like vacuuming or cooking dinner. I wasn't sure how I would get through it until I realized that the virus hadn't taken away one very important thing; my ability and energy to write.
I started a Healing Journal, a place where I could record all my thoughts and feelings about what I was experiencing. Chronic illness can be very isolating and even those who love you most don't really want to hear 'all about it.' I could fall apart, scream and yell or get irrationally angry and my healing journal hung on my every word.
At first I mostly complained in the journal, but over time I found I wrote more about how to cope, dreamed about what I'd do when I got well and I started to brainstorm on how to get help and improve my health.
My Healing Journal created a safe place for me to reside while trying to cope with a frustrating situation. It was the best kind of therapy and it was there for me any time I needed it. No doctor's fees. No waiting. No prescription needed.
Looking back, I don't know what I would have done without the amazing healing therapy of writing. "

"Morning pages make my day more focused. Instead of jumping out of bed and into the chaos of the day, I take 20 minutes to bridge the dreamworld to the real through writing. I've found that each day I awaken with new clarity that, if not captured on paper, disappears from my awareness, its benefits lost. It is not always easy to take time for morning pages, yet each time that I do, the rewards of clarity and connection to myself are greater. Thank you, Mari, for encouraging people to write "for the health of it."

"Mari and I spoke on the phone, where she coached and inspired me to write. As she suggested, I started journaling in the morning when my mind was clear and open. The first time I thought, oh I'll just sit for 15 minutes and jot down what ever comes up. Well I just kept writing and writing for much longer, couldn't stop. Now as I journal in the morning, I sometimes only need 15 minutes to get to a juicy nugget or A HA! moment. Mari's coaching was invaluable. She is truly inspiring in what she has done, what she is currently doing, and what she is planning to do. I recently left a corporate career of 23 years and am in the process of transforming my life into something new and exciting and unknown. I look forward to working with Mari during my transformation!"

"I had been journaling off and on over the years, but until I read Mari's take on its benefits, and her enthusiasm, I didn't commit to delving into the depths of "Writing for the Health of It!" Overcoming resistance to expressing feelings on paper was a big step for me. Mari's website helped me to stop thinking about writing, but to go ahead and 'just do it'!
Thank you, Mari."

"Writing saved my life. A life I never knew I had. Before writing, I survived on the periphery of my life. Now I participate spiritually, emotionally and physically in my body and use much, much, more of my brains. Through this self-discovery process, I've changed my attitudes and have a healthier relationship with myself.
I am a writing addict. I write every day. Sometimes, I use a "Morning Pages" approach, some times a "Ten Minute Missives" - call it what you will, the important thing is the discipline of repeatedly showing up at the page.
I can't wait to find out what happens next."
