Journal-Write Newsletter - August 2009
Welcome to the Dog Days of August!
If you find the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer too challenging, Remember...
When it gets too hot to stand it and you can't buy ice cream cones, it ain't no sin to get out of your skin and jump around in your bones!
(Thanks for the advice, Mom)

HARD TO SAY *
Sometimes when we go a journaling, words appear and insist on our immediate attention. That's what happened to me recently. The word 'FEEDBACK' visited me. The first step this words lover (c'est moi) takes is to see what Merriam Webster has to say in their dictionary, thesaurus or medical section. Alas alack, all MW provided was a superscientific definition. Ditto for Wikipedia, normally a good backup position.
So I invented my own definition:
Feedback - The healthiest way to nurture a person's soul by showing them your love.
When we take the time to listen to ourselves and 'CONFRONT' (another recent journal entry) our inner critical voices and acknowledge and affirm our goodness, greatness and talents, our body is ever so appreciative.
Show Yourself the Loving First!
* TRY THIS AT HOME *
This is a multitasking journaling exercise for those who just don't have any time ever whatsoever:
Combine your journaling with your meditation.
First, write a question in your journal. Then meditate for 4-5 minutes and listen for the answer. Then write down the answer in your journal.
Begin with an easy question like, 'What are my goals for today?' and watch (not judge) what happens .

I've finalized my tracklist for my upcoming (February 2010) CD 'My Favorite Sings-Then and Now' featuring my version of show tunes.
For the song I'm writing for it, "And Now You Know" I'm toying with the idea of putting lyrics from the songs I'm covering in it like "I'm yours till I die" from 'So in Love' or "I'd be the first one to agree that I'm preoccupied with me" from 'I Won't Send Roses'. Or maybe I'll use the song titles like 'Some Enchanted Evening' or 'This is the Moment'.
What are your favorite show tunes lyrics and song titles? Send them my way! I'll see if I can make them fit into my song. Or maybe your feedback will start me on a new song....
Thanks!
* THE WICKED PITCHES*
A Boston-based, mixed, a cappella sextet that's been tantalizing your ears for the past sixteen years released their first full-length studio album in February, 2009!
It's chock full of great arrangements of songs you know & love.
WARNING : These tunes stick in your head for days after listening to them.
For a preview of what's on it, play one of the track samples here , or better yet, head over to CD BABY to snag your own copy (or for more track samples).
