HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

According to my math, America is celebrating birthday 232 and begins its 233rd year with presidential elections and lots of change, change, change! My strawberry patch had its very own fireworks this year...the best bumper crop ever. The blueberries are up next...yummm!

* BRING BACK MY BODY TO ME TO ME *

What's your relationship with your body? A Coexistence?  A Non-existence?  Or are you and your body best friends actively pursuing liberty and justice and for all?

Disease (dis-ease) is our body asking for help. From us.  It's an opportunity to spend quality time together listening, exploring and THEN jointly deciding what health resources can best help us.

Through Journal-Writing, we repair the mind-body communication lines, discover how our out-of-date thoughts and feelings provoke dis-ease AND get guidance in how to use our self-healing talents.

Here's how Kim used her journaling to deal with her physical challenges.

* TRY THIS AT HOME *

Create a quiet, comfortable space. Send your inner critics out to play in traffic. Of course, bring a pen and paper, and music, candles, a cup of tea or water if you wish. Close your eyes and starting with your feet observe every body part front and back until you get to your head. Notice the stress, the tension and the peace(!).

Then, when you feel like it, put pen to page and have a conversation with your body. Maybe start it off with "Dear Body".  This journal-writing exercise is about fun, curiosity, risk, imagination, NOT editing...we do that to ourselves enough already.

A new book on journal-writing, "NOTE TO SELF" comes out July 22.
Meet the author!

WRITES OF PASSAGE

I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.
