Greetings!
Happy Spring! Our days are getting lighter and brighter sooner rather than later and our thoughts turn to our outer landscape once more--all that we HAVE to do "out there"-- window powerwashing, rototilling, fertilizing, pruning, planting, everything we MUST buy NOW.... How are we going to do all this when we don't have time to do all the things we SHOULD be doing anyway? Automatically, our crazymaker brain is running off at the mouth again followed closely by aches and pains and stresses. We'd like to change this and similar scenes, right? But how? When in doubt,  JOURNALWRITE it out!

A is for AWARENESS
We enter this life fully-loaded with all the talents, magic, and wisdom we need to live the healthiest, wealthiest, happiest life ever. Because our sense of self was shaped by childhood experiences, we internalized many, many, many faulty messages that froze us in the past. We're carrying those way too many extra pounds around with us still. Our body begs for our attention, and through dis-ease, unconventionally invites us to get out of our heads (Overthinking experts that we are), return to our bodies and discover who we really are. JournalWriting is our all-purpose environmentally safe cleaning agent to help us undo the damage that we've done to ourselves. (S is for Self-Sabotage a future JournalWrite Newsletter topic.) You can learn JournalWriting at The Center for Healing Journal Writing.

TRY THIS at HOME

According to Wikipedia, "Self-awareness is the explicit understanding that one exists. Furthermore, it includes the concept that one exists as an individual, separate from other people, with private thoughts." And Webster's medical dictionary says "self-awareness is  an awareness of one's own personality or individuality."
Here's a way to recheck in with yourself:

Awareness 101 exercise

Schedule 10 or 15 minutes for yourself in a completely quiet space. Bring a pen and notebook with you. Get a cup of tea, juice or water if you'd like. Turn on this song or download it to your iTunes, iPod, or CD. Listen to the music once or twice. When you feel like it,  write at the top of the page "I am aware that..." and begin to write until you feel it's right for you to stop.

Here's what came up for me doing this exercise.

I'd love to hear about your experiences: Mari@CreateWriteNOW.com .

P. S. The child pictured, Domenic Devitt, chronologically 20 months old, is my new best friend who reminds me who I am!

My BARRY SPECIAL TRIBUTE
You now are aware of the Barry Manilow tenor of this Newsletter and that's because I am creating my dream CD, "The BARRY Thought of You - My Tribute" with my music partner, Perry Rossi ( www.PerryRossi.com ). I now can say that "I Write the Songs" because I am writing my first song, "Since Forever".

And it's worth noting that I'm accomplishing these goals with a lot of help from my friend, JournalWriting!  Yes, we've only just begun...the best is yet to come! You can still hear and buy my CDs, "My Favorite Sings" and "A Baby Boomer's Chistmas"
