Journaling: Fruitful Journey

FruitfulBack to the life of journaling I go.  I have been wanting to do this article for so long; however my thinking about it has taken so much time.  I fear too much time has passed.  I really believe journaling helps the soul!

I went to mental facility in September and did much journaling which helped ease my pain.  There seemed to be a lot of pain in my very core.  The people there were very helpful and took time to teach me new ways to deal with things, among them, journaling.

My path has taken a long but fruitful journey.  I am ready to re-embrace the journaling world, beat the blog blues of thinking I have nothing to offer, and step into an unknown beginning.

I am working on my first children's book.  There is an amazing lady illustrating for me.  I couldn't be happier.  I am also taking some more writing courses.  One could safely say I am addicted to taking them.

So much in the world to learn, so little time.  My Grandpa once said, “If you don't learn, you may as well die.”  He was right, the key is to learn something new every day.  My Grandpa also taught me the love of books.  He made me write ten words a day from the dictionary starting with the letter A.

Not only did he have me do that, but at ten times each.  Today, with dictionary.com and the Iphone his tradition carries on to one of his great-grandsons.  Every day he reads a new word and beyond that word he researches even more.

I cannot tell you the number of journals I have made along the way.  I give them to various family members and friends.  A token of my love and care to help them on their journey if need be.

In my journey, I have taken several journaling classes, friends of Mari McCarthy teach them.  Mari has spent one-on-one time with me on several occasions, teaching me new things and about the fact that you can journal whatever with no right or wrong.

Journaling is about you, writing your heart, day, or whatever comes to mind.  Dating your entry is vital for looking back and reflecting, beyond that it is all you.  Your counselor, friend, or what have you.

Each day is a new start and with that start writing at least five minutes a day truly helps!  I cannot be so blind to the advice myself.  Truly, it takes a village.  What we have at our disposal is an awesome journaling community!  Do with it what you will, I plan to!
