Journo: The World's Most Sophisticated Journal Ever

It started with a three-month European backpacking adventure with my brother and best friend.

Giddy like a 19-year-old about to hit Europa, I decided on two things to remember the trip: write elaborate emails back home, and for all three of us to write a shared journal.

Needless to say, it was one of the greatest times of my life and a few years ago I went on a stressful search for my priceless mementos.  The paper journal was MIA and after searching every email account I’ve ever had, I just couldn't find my emails.  Bummer.

That was Round 1 of my attempt at journaling and, safe to say, I lost.

An East Coast Round 2.

When I was 20 I was sponsored by a skateboard company out of Georgia and we toured across the East Coast for a couple summers in a row.  It was a dream come true and I wanted to journal about it along the way… which I did… and as your ESP is hinting at - I lost the journal.

Sh*t.

On The Hook in The British Virgin Islands.

I had given up on the whole idea for a long time, but a few years ago when sailing the British Virgin Islands with 10 buddies, I noticed a couple of them hit the bow and scratch down some memories.  I was a tad jealous, but given my track-record I opted for a beer and let the thought slide.

The BVIs are spectacular in every sense of the word and thanks to digital cameras I have some great memories.  But when I got home I couldn’t get the thought of writing about it off my mind.  So I bought another journal.

Round 3 began and, I’m thankful to say, this time it stuck.

It’s become a part of my routine, even if I’m not abroad.  At the very least, every morning I try to throw down a few things I’m grateful for.  I find it meaningful, relaxing and a great way to put life into perspective - daily.

Still Wanting More.

But all of these experiences kept me thinking there could be more to it.  I wanted something that I didn’t have to remember to haul around, that I couldn’t lose, that kept it all in one place, and that allowed me to include more than just my horrific handwriting.

More than that, I was embarking on a two year sail throughout the Caribbean Islands with my girlfriend Mak and I wanted to track our route too.

It really hit me one morning at anchor in the Bahamas.  We were in a secluded bay, and I was up watching one of the most gorgeous sunrises but I just couldn’t describe it properly in my journal.  I tried to steal some verbiage from my favorite sailing authors but I’m just not good enough.  I needed the picture.

The World’s Most Sophisticated Journal?

They say to scratch your own itch, to make something that can best solve your own problem.  Well, I’m happy to say that I think we’ve created something that solves all of these issues.

I own an app development company and I believe that we’ve created, hands down, our best work.  It’s called Journo, and it’s been referred to as ‘The World’s Most Sophisticated Journal.’

I think we certainly might take that title, but that’s not what matters to us.  What matters instead is whether it truly improves our users lives.

Features Schmeatures.

It’s jammed packed with tons of cool and innovative ways to journal - travel mapping, tailored journos, shared journos, dictation, pic and video capabilities, etc.  That’s all fine and dandy but we’re out for much more than that…we’re on a mission!

We know Journo can change lives.  We believe whole-heartedly in the power of journaling and it’s ability to transform people’s lives into ones they were meant to live.

If you’re reading this, you probably believe this too.  And so we need your help in making Journo a reality. Introducing:
