Sam Lytle is a self-proclaimed tech “geek” and journaling fanatic who created the website Easy Journaling to help people with busy lives find time for personal journaling. Sam has written fantastic guest blog posts  for Create Write Now in the past, so I was excited to check out his new e-book, Modern Journaling: The Complete Guide to Keeping a Personal Journal or Diary in the 21st Century .

As you may have noticed, I love traditional pen-and-paper journal writing, but technology is always opening up new possibilities for how we can record our personal thoughts in a meaningful way. Modern Journaling explores these electronic journaling (or eJournaling) options so they are understandable and accessible (for technophiles and technophobes alike). It shows that keeping an electronic personal journal is safe, secure and convenient for busy, on-the-go lifestyles. The book also points out that there is no need for you to choose between pen-and-paper journaling and eJournaling – you can always do both!

Modern Journaling is a fascinating read for anyone interested in exploring a different side of journaling. Some of the highlights:

  • The history of modern journaling and where it is going in the future
  • Benefits of eJournaling vs. traditional journaling
  • Answers to common concerns and questions, such as: What’s the difference between eJournaling and blogging? What’s the best way to get started? Why should I journal? How do I find time to journal?
  • Tips on how to start eJournaling
  • A guide to 28 eJournal features and why they are important or not
  • An in-depth list of 25 eJournal recommendations for computers, smart phones and other mobile devices (such as iPads)

Read more about Modern Journaling  and download a free preview  of the preface.

AND...A SPECIAL OFFER from Sam: "Let your readers know that they can get 25% off with the promo code "createwritenowmj" which is good for the first 25 users."

Okay, where do you come down on electronic journaling? Have no interest in it, can't live without it or something in between? C'mon let us know how you really feel about this newfangled Modern Journaling stuff!
