Sometimes, life’s a @#$%^. But not all the time. We whine like that because we are stuck in the past thinking, feeling and behaving the way we did as self-unsure, scared youngsters.  Journaling helps you Grow Yourself Back Up. It’s there to support you as you grab all that life has to offer. With practice, practice, practice your personal journal nudges you to make use of all that you possess (skills, talents, power, strength, creativity, imagination…).  Yes, that means Y-O-U.

A poor self-image is a pretty common dis-ease; just observe people when they’re speaking.  It’s second nature for us to immediately go negative on ourselves. Like my experience at the eye doctor’s office yesterday. I was talking with his office manager about my singing career. Before I said much, she blurted out “Oh, I could never do that.” When I attempted to explain to her that I had taken voice lessons for 6 years and routinely exercised my voice, her response was, “Oh there is not an instructor anywhere that could work with me because there’s no there there.” Luckily, I had a blank journal notebook (I don’t leave home without one) and a brochure to give her.  I’ll see how she feels when I go back next week to pick up my glasses. Will she try something new or choose to let her fearful thoughts continue to overwhelm her?

Journal writing moves us from constant self-critiquing, to certain self-acceptance and unconditional self-love.  Through journaling over time (you'll fill up lots of pages) you find ways  to replace your idle chatterboxes with positive inner cheerleaders. As our President constantly reminds us, it took us a long time to get in this mess; it will take us a long time to get out of it. That’s if we choose to live a better life than what we’ve had.

EXERCISE YOUR WRITES and VOTE  for YOU
